Pearl & Bead Restringing

Pearl necklaces, particularly when worn regularly, tend to need to be restrung every 2-3 years, as they are susceptible to exposure to dirt/oil and the elements. Scheherazade Jewelers uses the traditional restringing method of hand knotting on a double strand of silk, placing knots between each pearl to maximize the drape of the necklace and to minimize the chance of breakage. We also restring mixed-gemstone and bead necklaces, choosing a thread or cord that will be most durable depending on the design. In addition, we can recommend a new clasp or remove a few pearls from the strand to create a ring, bracelet or earrings to match (See Custom Design Section.)
